Welcome to the Greater Wyoming Council

Spanning over half of the State of Wyoming, the Greater Wyoming Council of the Boy Scouts of America provides service for youth from age 5 to 21. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for both boys and girls, as well as young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Greater Wyoming Council is proud to help with the molding of Wyoming's youth in to tomorrow's leaders.

Prepared. For Life.

Our Story

Founded in 1920, the Greater Wyoming Council serves over 3,000 youths across 11 counties in central Wyoming. As a non-profit organization, the council is supported by over 1,400 volunteers, nearly 150 community partners, and proceeds from our Trading Post. Scouting programs educate boys and young adults ages 6-21 in building character, developing leadership capabilities, understanding the responsibilities of active citizenship, and enhancing personal fitness.
